Title IX

Fullerton College has an expressed commitment to equity and inclusion for all students, faculty and staff members who are lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender. Fullerton College statement on equal access makes specific reference to assuring equity “without regard to accent, age, ancestry, citizenship status, color, disability, economic status, ethnic group identification, gender, marital status, medical condition, national origin, parental status, race, religion, sexual orientation, veteran status, or any legally protected characteristic.”

California Education Code Section 66271.2 indicates that the Governing Board of California Community Colleges has requested that each community college district designate an employee at each college as a point of contact for the needs of lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender faculty, staff, and students.

All colleges must be in compliance with Title IX. Under federal law Title IX protections, harassment and discrimination is prohibited and this includes discrimination or harassment based upon LGBTQ membership or perceived membership.

Mandatory Title IX Training for Students

Starting on September 1, 2024, Assembly Bill 2683 requires California Community Colleges to annually train their students on sexual violence and sexual harassment. Students are required to complete their annual training within 6 months of the beginning of the academic year. All students who are required to complete the training have been sent an email notifying them of the requirement. If you are concerned that completing the training will cause you trauma or harm, please contact Rosio Becerra, Interim Dean of Student Support Services and Title IX Coordinator at 714-992-7089 or studentsupport@fullcoll.edu to discuss alternative options. Registration will not be impacted if you do not complete the training.
